Further explore the people, places, monuments, artifacts, events, and principles connected to the stories of So Nobly Advanced!
Many of the stories told on this blog are rooted in specific places: a battlefield ridge, a quiet cemetery, a monument along a road, a forgotten grave, a hometown, a river crossing, a railroad cut, or a memorial that still stands in public view…
The Mapping Tool brings those places together in one interactive reference. Rather than treating each article as an isolated story, the mapping tool helps show how these stories connect across geography, memory, and meaning.

Why This Tool Exists
So Nobly Advanced is built on the belief that history is not only found in famous places.
It is also found in small towns, overlooked markers, local monuments, family records, fading inscriptions, and the spaces people pass every day without realizing what they contain.
The map is meant to help readers see those connections all around them.
- A grave in western Pennsylvania may connect to Gettysburg.
- A monument in a town square may connect to a regiment.
- A letter may connect a soldier’s private fear to a national crisis.
- A battlefield position may connect strategy, sacrifice, and memory.
- A local story may open into a much larger American story.
The mapping tool exists to make those relationships easier to explore!
How to Use the Mapping Tool
Use the Mapping Tool to browse locations, search for specific places, filter by category/article, and follow connections between the topics and historic sites.
Some pins link directly to published So Nobly Advanced articles. Others may serve as research notes, reference points, or future story locations.
The map is an ongoing project and will continue to grow as new articles, locations, and research paths are added. We look forward to exploring with you!
